A Vision Realised
Project 18 has a story—a journey that began as a vision and evolved into a vibrant space that embodies a new way of doing things. Founded by Jodie Evans, Project 18 was established to provide counselling services for children and young people. It also aimed to create a welcoming environment for other wellbeing practitioners, providing a non-clinical, collaborative workspace in Port Adelaide.
Responding to Community Needs
Our chosen location reflects a commitment to meet the changing needs of the Port Adelaide community. We recognised the importance of building on existing mental health and wellbeing services while providing greater choice, flexibility, and responsiveness often found in independent providers. Over the years, we’ve discovered that our accessibility draws clients from northern, northeastern, western, and central suburbs, all seeking support from our dedicated practitioners.
Responding to Community Needs
Celebrating five years – in 2024 – since our inception, we’ve transitioned from a beloved 1860s property on Lipson Street to an equally charming but distinct space on St Vincent Street, right in the heart of Port Adelaide. This move has allowed us to refine our focus on counselling, advocacy, and consultancy services especially for children and young people, transforming our shared workspace into a more specialised environment.
